Chapter 01 · Music & Activism
2011–12
Occupy
This Album
Art. People. Progress.
In the first days of Occupy Wall Street I walked through Zuccotti Park and heard music everywhere. I was a singer-songwriter who didn’t know anyone in the music industry. Michael Moore was the first to sign on; by May 2012, 99 artists — Jackson Browne, Joan Baez, Yoko Ono, Willie Nelson, Tom Morello — had donated songs to Occupy This Album, a four-disc benefit set that went on to win the Vox Pop award for Compilation Album at the 12th Independent Music Awards.

“How can I shine a light on all of this incredible music?” — what I asked myself in the park. Relix, 2012.

Beyond the Stage
People, policy, possibility.
By day I was an insurance broker. I founded NewYorkObamacare.com, and from the first enrollment deadlines in 2014 reporters called when the Affordable Care Act got confusing — FOX News Radio, PIX11, News 12, Crain’s, Long Island Business News. In 2018 I started hosting North Shore Now on WCWP 88.1 FM, and in June 2020 I helped organize a Black Lives Matter march through Glen Cove.

Clearwater
Festival
2014 → 2019 · The Seeger years
One album led to stages. In 2014 I co-produced Seeger Fest, five days honoring Pete and Toshi Seeger, with their grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson. In 2015 came Buy This Fracking Album, which carries Pete’s last recording. And in 2019 I directed the festival he founded: Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival, in the year of his 100th birthday and the sloop’s 50th.

Buddha Jams
2021 → today · Glen Cove
Yoga carried me through a hard stretch of the pandemic. I became an instructor in 2021 — today a 500-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor and Reiki Master — opened Buddha Jams Yoga in Glen Cove in 2022, and in June 2024 launched the first Long Island Yoga Festival there.

Chapter 04 · Today
The setting changes.
The purpose doesn’t.
In 2024 I released “Heads Bowed Down,” recorded with Marco Benevento, Scott Sharrard and Leslie Mendelson, on the opening day of the Long Island Yoga Festival. A studio, a festival field, a newsroom, a yoga room: the rooms keep changing. The work is still getting people into them.
